the NEW HFAC’s first mailer is hitting homes now!

It’s so exciting to see all the progress being made as we lead up to an official Grand Opening date of July 25th. Membership numbers grow daily as does class and program attendance. The employee team is growing as well! Management has been hired for the Bistro and the Spa. We are still accepting applications for spa service providers, so spread the word.

The new Yoga/Barre studio is almost complete and the Spa is being all spiffed up. Among other additions, two recent orders that I know will be appreciated ADA pool lifts and new stair climber cardio machines with personal viewing machines. Keep an eye out for those, they should be coming soon!

Another achievement is that our first postcard went out in today’s mail, announcing our return to the community and sharing the 50% off joining fee offer that will last until July 25th. We’re so amazed and grateful for the outstanding membership enrollment that occurred just via word-of-mouth during these first two months of soft-opening. THANK YOU! Can’t wait to see what the next two months bring!

The Outdoor Pool Is Open – We Just Need the Sun!

Well, the new outdoor furniture is in place and the outdoor pool is open. If only the weather would cooperate and give us some of that beautiful sunshine we’ve been having!

If you have not already heard, over the coming days there will be a big push on clearing out “stuff” to allow for the opening of the spa and conference area, and streamlining and improving the function of the weight room. This is a good, positive step forward!

On the Monday holiday we will be open from 6:30 am to 4pm.

Now is a great time to remind friends, family and neighbors that our “No Joining Fee and one week free” offer ends on May 31st. Again a HUGE HUGE thank you for your early support during this first phase of our soft opening. Member enrollment during this un-advertised opening period has exceeded expectations, and we’re so pleased. When we originally opened Hawthorn Farm in the early 2000’s we had years for big picture planning and months to complete hands on work. We were happy to oblige the request to open quickly after the resent closure, but it has required some juggling. Your patience and communication is so appreciated as we get build a strong employee team, learn all the maintenance needs, and create a vision for updated interior design, services and amenities.

Phase 2 of HFAC’s soft opening will go from June 1 through our Grand Opening in July. During this period, there will be a 50% discount on the joining fees published on http://www.hfac.com . The Bistro, Mind/Body Studio and Pilates Room, the Conference Center and The Spa will be opening during this time and we will advertise this promotion to the public. Please keep an eye out for details about these area openings and our official Grand Opening event on July 25th.

Fixing Those Shower Heads

Dear Members,

Survey responses are still trickling in, but I am currently doing an analysis of our first wave of responses and I will share the results once that’s done.

For now let me say THANK YOU for letting us know about the challenges with the shower head water pressure and water temperature. After some serious trouble shooting we’ve determined that the new water heaters had an unexpected impact on the sink faucets and shower heads. That should be resolved by the end of this week, but please let a team member know if you continue to experience any problems.

Two weeks have passed, how are we doing?

It’s been 2 weeks since the soft opening of Hawthorn Farm Athletic Club and enrollments have beat all projections! Hooray! We have not yet marketed the new club – even the building signage is just being finalized. What this means is that our new members came to HFAC by reaching out directly or through word-of-mouth. Once again, our team would like to say THANK YOU to this community for the outstanding support.

THANK YOU to the Patrick’s and the hundreds of others who joined Hawthorn Farm Athletic Club opening day, April 2nd. It was a pleasure to see so many old friends and to make some new ones! Please come on in and meet our friendly, professional staff and see the “soft opening” changes for yourself!

KID CENTRAL IS COMPLIMENTARY TODAY – OPEN 8am to 1:30pm and 4pm-8pm
Kid Central Hours are
Monday – Friday 8am to 1:30pm and 4pm-8pm
Saturday and Sunday 9am to 1pm

Pricing: Children who are on the membership can stay in kid central for $35/mo per child or $3 hr/per child. Children who are not members of the club are $5.50 hr/per child.

Less than 19 hours to opening!

Dear community,

It’s now fewer than 19 hours until Hawthorn Farm Athletic Club opens our doors. There’s a lot of staff paperwork and training and last minute details being attended to, so my response to comments and emails may be a bit delayed. The best way to get answers to all your questions is to come in once we open and talk to someone in person. Emails are great, but may take a bit longer. The phone number will be 503.640.6404.

You are very important to us and we will do our best to get all your needs met promptly!

I’m told there’s a rumor that there was a fire at the club and the April 2nd opening is being delayed. Maybe that seems like a funny April Fool’s Day Joke… It’s not funny to me!!! The only fire at HFAC is the one burning in our hearts to get our employees to work and the business up and open for all of you who have been so supportive.

• Primary Member must apply in person.
• Monthly Membership Dues may be paid with Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) – or by Cash or Check for an additional $5 bookkeeping fee. We do not accept Credit or Debit cards for Monthly Membership Dues.
• You will need to fill out a Membership Agreement Form and sign the Rules and Regulations form (PRINT IN ADVANCE BY CLICKING ON THE LINK ABOVE)
• Please bring current photo ID and a cancelled check if you are electing for EFT payment.

In Appreciation

There are some truly amazing people going above and beyond to get the club ready for Thursday’s opening. It’s been hard work and long hours and daily adventures, and we’re just getting started!! I know most in this group don’t like having their names called out, but after getting a 10pm celebratory picture of the now-gleaming basketball court floor I just had to post a HUGE THANK YOU!!!! To each and every team member working on this project, THANK YOU!!!! You are so very appreciated!!!

UPDATED! – No Joining Fees for All Prior Hawthorn Location Members!!

I’m so happy to be able to officially announce our expanded “no-joining” fees welcome promotion.  During April and May, we will waive the new club’s joining fees for any former member of Hawthorn Sport & Spa or Hawthorn Farm Athletic Club.

We want you to come on in, meet our team, see the current and planned improvements and get back to your healthy lifestyle habits as quickly and easily as possible.  Bring whatever form of documentation you have (a billing statement, a credit card charge line, a member agreement…) and talk to a team member once the doors open on April 2nd.  There will be no pressure or sales tactics, just an invitation to join the club month-to-month and let us earn your ongoing business.   There will be dues-consideration offered for the “soft opening”, available as soon as we open!
